Your image database takes up the most space. I always take the time to review each receipt for accuracy and use the "crop" tool to eliminate any wasted white space, but especially any "black" areas. If you have a lot of black area in your scan, it takes up "tons" of "bits/bytes" to "save" that! Go back into your program and try this, and see if it does'nt improve the size!
